Types of Image
In this section, the term ‘Boundless Pictures’ or ‘us’ or ‘we’ refers to the owner of the website. The term ‘you’ refers to the photographer, videographer or filmmaker using our service.
By uploading images, you are specifically agreeing that:
You took the image. The exception to this is if you have joined as a Duo/Studio – in this case, you are both ‘primary shooters’ anyway.
There are no watermarks on your images.
Images submitted to our contests can be taken from any time – they do not have to have been taken within the current year; they can be from any year.
Copyright and Image Usage
In this section, the term ‘Boundless Pictures’ or ‘us’ or ‘we’ refers to the owner of the website. The term ‘you’ refers to the photographer, videographer or filmmaker using our service.
You must own the copyright – and be the sole owner of this copyright – to every image uploaded to the site, and by uploading, you are accepting you do so
You must also have the right – as stated in your own photography contract with your clients – to upload/display your images on third-party websites such as Boundless Pictures.
Copyright at all times remains with you; never with us.
By uploading any image to the website, you agree that we can use your image(s) for promotional uses, on this website and on our social media profiles. Images will always be credited if possible, with links to either your your website. For third-party use (such as other blogs/websites talking about Boundless Pictures), we will always insist on your images being credited, but, by agreeing to these terms, you accept this is outside of our total control, and so may not always be possible.
Judging Process
It’s vital that all our awards are as fair as possible; with no extraneous factors determining each winner, other than each image’s strength. It’s also just as important that you know exactly how the judging process works, so here’s all the details:
Every single image and video entered into the contests will be assessed by the judges.
Images are judged totally anonymously, so the judges don’t know who has taken each image.
When the majority of our judges deem an image or video worthy, only then do they become Awards.
A judge can not see if another judge has voted for an image or not, so can’t be swayed that way.
Each competition will have different judges, ensuring it is not always the same opinions/tastes giving awards.
The owner of the site will never be a judge, except in exceptional circumstances (such as a judge becoming sick, or unable to do their judging for some reason, and there is no time left to seek another judge).
Image Manipulation
You are, of course, free to edit your images as you see fit, with the following exceptions:
AI image-manipulation is not allowed.
For our awards, we may ask to see RAWs as proof of this; we remain the right to remove awarded images if any of the above image manipulation rules have been broken.
By signing up to the site, you agree that we can contact you from time to time; this will mainly be for award notifications and deadline reminders, you can of course opt out of all emails but if you enter a competition and win, we may not be able to contact you to let you know.
